About Us

We believe that the anti-angiogenic therapy we are developing holds real promise for cancer patients with solid tumors. In our efforts to offer this hope to patients as soon as possible we are taking several parallel routes. At the moment, there are two arms to our operation: Our first arm is a commercial enterprise established by Yissum (a Hebrew University affiliated company), the inventor, Prof. Shmuel (Muli) Ben-Sasson , his students and Yigal Stav , the company's CEO. The Company is jointly owned by the Hebrew University (Yissum), Children's Hospital, Boston, the inventors and entrepreneurs. This company is responsible for the clinical trials, including the production of the drug and the monitoring of trial progress. Currently, the company is still limited in its resources and can sponsor only these tasks.

Shear Gain is a non-profit organization devoted to expediting the research and development related to this new anti-angiogenic therapy for cancer, now working towards clinical trials. In order to make the best therapy available to the patient population as soon as possible, we are seeking the necessary funding that will enable us to progress to the next generation of drug-combination, based on the valuable know-how we have gained, and complete clinical trials.

Prof. Ben-Sasson of the Dept. of Experimental Medicine & Cancer Research, The Hebrew University-Hadassah Medical School, Jerusalem, also holds a position of a Visiting Professor at the Harvard Medical School, in affiliation with the lab of the world leader in the field of tumor angiogenesis, Prof. Judah Folkman.
