Tiltan's Technology

Tiltan Pharma has received power of attorney for patent covering family 3

Angiogenesis in general is a complex process that involves multiple steps (e.g. endothelial cell proliferation, cell migration, and tube-formation). Cancer-related angiogenesis in particular is a very robust phenomenon. Attempts to block the process using a single agent that attacks a single molecular target have produced disappointing results. As opposed to the standard single-agent approach, Tiltan’s anti-angiogenic therapy is based on the tenet that since angiogenesis is a multi-faceted process it can be better disrupted by multi-faceted intervention. At the present, Tiltan's anti-cancer drug-combination TL-118 comprises of four agents.
Responses of no-progression and partial regression were seen in about 60% of the patients in the phase I-II study, including the following tumors: Prostate (CRPC), Ovarian, Breast, Pancreas, and several malignant sarcomas.

Tiltan’s technology is covered by three patent families. A composition-of-mater world-wide patent application (PCT), filed December 31st 2002, that broadly covers the scope of the invention and is now at the national phase. An additional PCT filed 2006 covers the advanced compositions. Yet another patent application was submitted in 2008 on a New Chemical Entity (NCE) for the treatment of cancer. Tiltan Pharma owns the exclusive rights for these patents.
